We have Achieved Silver!
The team are delighted to announce that we have achieved our Silver Award for Eco Church!
Our church has been on an Eco Church journey for some time and the team here are delighted to announce we have been awarded our Silver Eco Church Award!
The Eco Church Team are such a committed bunch of people, wanting to do their bit to help make a world that is kinder to both people and planet. We know it’s not about awards but it is so encouraging to achieve this and helps spur us on to going for Gold.
It took a lot of hard work last year — with the Eco Fair, Advent Guide, Eco Breakfast Church, articles in the magazine, buying recycled paper for the office, Uniform and Toy Banks, Community Garden work, plus bits and pieces of other things — but we got there!
A huge thank you to our church, our excellent community and all those involved in Eco Church in York and beyond for their support and encouragement. Together we can make a difference. (And no apologies for the cheesy sayings!)
We’d also like to thank everyone who helped in any way whatsoever. It’s these small, faithful steps both at church and in our own homes that make a world of difference.
We’d like to buy a plaque to be able to show the community that this church cares about these issues and is taking its responsibility seriously. It costs around £90; if you feel able to chip in so we can buy it, there’s a donation box in The Hub at church.
