Last time I introduced the other actions we could take before we think about recycling. We talked about refusing — avoiding using the energy or buying the product wherever possible. We can ask ourselves whether we really need that ‘stuff’.
This time it’s the turn of Reduce.
Reduce
How can we tweak and change what we do so we reduce it’s environmental impact?
Many of the ideas introduced here are based on reducing our impact. For example, buying as big a size of product that you have space for — eg, bigger bags of pasta or shampoo will use less plastic than 2 or 3 smaller packets of the same weight.
There are so many things you can do. But don’t be overwhelmed by trying to do everything at once. Pick one or two changes at a time before you take on other swaps.
